Dear Kindergartner,

I can’t believe how fast this summer went by!  Very soon it will be time for school to start.  I am very excited to be your teacher and to show you all the stories, games, and activities I have planned for you!  I have already been hard at work getting the room ready.  It won’t be long now!

On the first day of school we will be reading a book called Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready For Kindergarten by Joseph Slate.  It’s all about how a teacher and her class of kindergartners get ready for the first day.

Along with this letter, I have sent a nametag for you to wear on the first day of school,

I have some animal friend I want to introduce you to that will be living in our classroom with us this year.  One is named is Hershey and he has long ears.  The other is named Hopper and he lives in water.  Can you guess what kind of animals they are?

I can’t wait to see you!

                              Your Teacher,

                                    Mrs. Bonthuis
