I read to my kindergartners every day!  We start the day with a story, end the day one or two, and I read one or two chapters of a chapter book in the middle of the day.  I love to read and get excited about sharing new stories with kids.  Here are my (current) top ten favorite stories to read to kindergartners.

One of the new things I am working on this year is to read more fairy tales. They are such a big part of our culture, promote wonderful discussions, and somehow fill a "need" for "good vs. evil" (even better than pokemon, power rangers, or WWF in my opinion!)  I try to read one a week, and tie it in with my weekly book unit....Rumpelstilskin with My Ms. Bindergarten Unit (names),  The Three Bears with Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Cinderella with Pumpkin Pumpkin...
